Government of Gujarat appreciate the use of renewable energy like Solar. Both central as well as state government pass on the subsidy benefit (Capital Finance Assistance) to all the residential units in the state install the Solar rooftop during the policy duration decided by Government.
SOLAR POWER SUBSIDY IN GUJARAT
All the resident of Gujarat who install solar roof top during the policy period are benefited up to 40% of the capital subsidy of investment amount. However calculation of Investment amount is already instructed by Government.
Your investment value is : Lower of the 1 or 2
However every resident only eligible for either State or Central subsidy benefit.
SOLAR POWER SUBSIDY CALCULATOR

For common usage property installation like Club House, Swimming Pool, Gym, Garden etc. are connected by Housing societies than subsidy is granted up to 500 Kw/Hour. However Per resident member limit is 10 Kw/Hour per Member. It means If society has 30 member only than maximum load granted for calculation of subsidy is 30 Member * 10 Kw = 300 Kw/ Hour.
Note: Subsidy is paid lesser of Solar Penal AC capacity or Inverter DC Capacity
SOLAR POWER SUBSIDY FOR INDUSTRIES
No Subsidy is Provided in the State of Gujarat if Premise is build for Residence. However Business users are allowed to getting 40% Depreciation benefit against book profit and pay less Income tax.
SOLAR POWER SUBSIDY ON ENHANCEMENT OF CAPACITY
Earlier you install Solar power roof top and your installed capacity is below 10Kw/hour than you are eligible for Solar Power Subsidy.
Ratio are the same as applied in New Installation.
| For additional load up to 3Kw/hour rate of subsidy is | 40% |
| If existing load capacity is below 10Kw/hours and after installing new roof top it’s more than 3kw/hour but less than 10Kw/hour than Subsidy on Load above 3Kw/hour is | 20% |
| If Load Capacity exceeds 10Kw/hour than NO Subsidy on Above 10 Kw/hour | 0% |
PAYMENT CONDITION FOR SOLAR POWER SUBSIDY
Excess unit generated by You is credited in your account and net payment after adjusting your billing will be paid annually at the end of every financial year.

HOW TO GET SOLAR POWER SUBSIDY AFTER 30.09.23
Agencies are spreading news that SURYA GUJARAT SCHEME will be closed after 30.09.2023. However it is wrong. SURYA GUJARAT SCHEME has operational period till 31.03.2025.
For easy of completion of work before 31.03.2025 all the new request must be register for subsidy on or before 30.09.2023
Most Important is only state government subsidy scheme get closed for new application but center still provide the subsidy to all the Indians residents.
Our Hon’ble PM launched new portal on 30.07.2022, Central Government Solar Rooftop Subsidy Programme .
One who miss this deadline still has the same benefit of 40% subsidy by applying on this portal. www.solarrooftop.gov.in Subsidy will be directly deposited on consumer’s Bank Account.
After 30.09.2023, You must apply to center for 40% Subsidy.
SOLAR POWER SUBSIDY FOR AGRICULTURE IN GUJARAT
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan Scheme (PM-KUSUM)
Gujarat State Level Solar Energy Data Management Platform 2023 in Gujarat : Apply Online (PM- KUSUM PORTAL)
Individual farmers/ group of farmers/ cooperatives/panchayats/ Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO)/Water User associations (WUA). Land on which the project is proposed to be installed should be within 5 km from the nearest electricity sub-station.
PM-KUSUM Scheme supports three different kind of installations, known as three components of the Scheme as given below:
- Component-A: Setting up of decentralized ground/ stilt mounted grid connected solar or other renewable energy based power plants up to 2 MW capacity
- Component-B: Installation of stand-alone solar agriculture pumps of capacity up to 7.5 HP
- Component-C: Solarisation of existing grid connected agriculture pumps of capacity up to 7.5 HP
For all states except for North-eastern States, Hill States/UTs and Island UTs, subsidy of 30%, each by Central and State Governments will be provided, and the remaining 40% will be invested by the farmer for installation of solar pump.
Subsidy in percentage mentioned above is applicable on benchmark cost or tender cost, whichever is lower.
For North-eastern States, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir/Ladakh and Island UTs, subsidy of 50% will be provided by Central Government and at least 30% will be provided by the State Government for installation of solar pump. Farmer will have to invest balance 20%.
